Founded by Fresno Pacific University Assistant Coach and former Texas Rangers Associate Scout Karlan Andrews, IDA is the Central Valley's only facility dedicated exclusively to infield development for baseball and softball athletes.

MEET THE FOUNDER

Karlan Andrews

Karlan Andrews is a Redwood High School graduate who earned his Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Fresno Pacific University on a baseball scholarship. Since finishing his playing career in 2012, he has dedicated himself to coaching infielders and mastering the intricacies of the infield position. His coaching resume includes one year as Varsity Infield Coach at CVC and seven years coaching varsity infielders at Redwood High School, those teams won two valley championships and three league championships. Karlan also served as an associate scout with the Texas Rangers for two years, gaining invaluable insight into what professional organizations look for in defensive players. Currently, he serves as the Infield Coach at Fresno Pacific University while running Infield Development Academy in Visalia. His commitment to continuous growth as a coach through constant collaboration with coaches at all levels up through college and professional baseball ranks ensures his athletes receive cutting-edge instruction that evolves with the game. Karlan's expertise in the very specific and detailed arena of infield development, combined with his relationships within a small circle of experts across the country, makes IDA a truly unique training destination in the Central Valley.

Infield Development Academy exists to provide specialized infield training that isn't available anywhere else in the region. Our mission is to create a fun and competitive atmosphere where athletes from across Visalia and the Central Valley can develop not just as infielders, but as complete athletes with work ethic that extends beyond baseball. We believe in bringing together players from different schools and communities to build respect, foster healthy competition, and create lasting connections. Through detailed fundamental instruction, athletic development, and game-speed repetitions, we prepare athletes for success at the next level while building character and confidence that serves them in all areas of life.
